NJTPA Project Monitoring Program

Background

The NJTPA Central Staff provides an opportunity for its subregions to discuss with the NJDOT and NJTPA the status of projects they feel are critical to their local transportation needs. This program allows for each subregion to identify up to two projects that are anywhere in the project pipeline. Once a subregion identifies two projects that they would like to have accepted into this program and notifies the NJTPA of their submissions, Central Staff will then reach out to the NJDOT's project manager and arrange for a meeting to be held at the subregion.

Each subregion is allowed to submit two new projects for each NJTPA fiscal year (July 1-June 30). The subregion is responsible for arranging the meeting location and inviting the appropriate subregional staff, municipal staff and elected officials to the meeting. Once a meeting day and time has been scheduled, Central Staff will facilitate the meeting, provide meeting summaries, conduct any necessary follow-up, and schedule similar meetings on a quarterly basis if that is the subregion's desire.

The purpose of the meetings and the Project Monitoring Program is to keep the lines of communication open between the subregion, NJDOT, and the NJTPA on projects the subregions feel are locally important.

If you would like to participate in this program, please provide a written letter to Sascha Brathwaite indicating the name of the project(s) and corresponding DBMUN's of the projects you would like to submit. Upon receipt of your letter, the NJDOT project manager will be contacted and a meeting scheduled with you concerning the projects. II.
