The following files comprise the final 2030 Access & Mobility Regional Transportation Plan for Northern New Jersey. It was approved by the NJTPA Board of Trustees on September 12, 2005.
Plan Update Now Underway
The NJTPA is preparing an update of the long range plan discussed on this page. The updated plan is scheduled for adoption in mid-2009. It will provide a vision and foundation for regional transportation investment through 2035. Public input and involvement is actively sought. You can sign up for mailing list to be notified of Plan 2035 activities. |
The document was revised to reflect input received during a formal public comment period held in July and August, 2005. The comments received and responses to them can be viewed in the Public Comment & Response document (pdf file).

A report on achievements made in implementing the plan since it adoption, entitled Progress in Plannning (pdf, 3.7 mb), was issued in January 2008.
A supplement to the plan (pdf, 464 kb) demonstrating its compliance with federal SAFETEA-LU legislation was issued in January 2007. It includes an appendix providing greater elaboration on NJTPA's efforts relating to environmental mitigation.
In November 2007, the NJTPA Board of Trustees approved an amendment to the plan to incorporate projects funded through the Liberty Corridor initiative led by U.S. Senator Robert Menendez. This action also included an addendum to the section of the plan on "Financing Regional Transportation."
